COVID-19 Update 11/25/20
We have had a second confirmed positive case for COVID-19 for a member of our staff. They tested on Wednesday, Nov. 18, and the results came Sunday, Nov. 22. The last time this staff member was at work was Wednesday, November 11.
We are following all guidelines recommended by the health department and Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The employee did not exhibit symptoms while at work. Our follow up indicates no employees or customers were in close proximity (defined as under 6ft) with the affected person for prolonged periods (defined as 15 minutes or more) while at the Co-op. The affected person was also masked while at work.
Following the Marquette Food Co-op’s COVID-19 Business Preparedness Plan, we have notified all employees. We’ve asked all employees to closely monitor their health and to stay home if they experience any symptoms of respiratory infection.
Our primary concern currently is the wellness of this employee, other staff, and our owners and customers. We remain confident in our COVID-19 plan, protocols, and decision making to keep the Marquette Food Co-op a low risk environment in which to shop and work.
We will share additional updates if they arise. Thank you for your support as we do everything possible to keep our community safe, healthy and well-fed during this public health crisis.
