Indigenous Peoples’ Day

October 14

Observing the history, contributions, and resilience of the Indigenous people who lived in the Americas long before colonization, the United States proclaimed Indigenous Peoples’ Day a national holiday in 2021.

The day honors Indigenous peoples as the first inhabitants of the land we claimed, and it is a chance to reaffirm our promises to the Tribal Nations within the United States.
